Our luxury holiday cottages are located in a breathtaking setting. Situated high up on Lowick Common near Coniston they offer the most stunning, uninterrupted views overlooking the Lakeland mountains and surrounding Lake District National Park countryside. It is a magical place, a perfect base for a cycling holiday.
At Coal Yeat there are three cottages Yan, Tyan and Tethera. AllI imaginatively arranged using contemporary open plan design Coal Yeat Cottages are ideal for families or couples holidaying together, or if all three utilised they offer a unique group environment for 13 people. The highlight for both 'Yan' and 'Tyan' is the breathtaking outlook over the much loved Lakeland fells.

Tethera = One bedroom cottage with real fire and full bathroom
Tyan = Three bedrooms (two doubles and a single)
Yan = Three bedrooms, two bathrooms (two doubles, master is ensuite full bathroom and bunk room, shower room)
We are situated on the southern fringe of the Lake District National Park in pure isolation betwixt the festival town of Ulverston and the village of Lowick within the Crake valley. Less than three miles in one direction finds all the amenities of the popular market town of Ulverston with its wide choice of eclectic shops, inns and restaurants, a championship golf course, sports centre with swimming pool and gym. Two miles the other finds the Crake Valley winding from the foot of Coniston Water through Lowick with it‘s 14th century coaching inn, old Lakeland working bobbin villages, fertile fields and woodland until it reaches the shores of Morecambe bay.
Ideal for roadies, mountain bikers and escapees this is rural Cumbria at it’s peak. Coniston Water 4 miles and Lake Windermere 6 miles are close enough for a quick dip. Grizedale Forest Enterprise Centre, 6miles offers unique off road trials for mountain biker wood and stone sculptures scattered amongst the trees. While roadies will be spoilt for choice with mountains passes, sedate fells interesting lanes, the undulating coastal roads or the open natural landscape, there is something for everyone.
