Stowford Hill offers affordable, comfortable self-catered accommodation in a s/c annexe adjacent to our 18th century property, just yards from Cycle Route 327 and close to Route 27 at Brentor
Here at Stowford Hill we provide self-catered accommodation which is ideal for cyclists. The accommodation is fully self-contained, adjacent to our own 18th Century stone property, and offers a twin-bedded room (plus optional folding bed at £15), a fully equipped kitchen, cosy breakfast room, and wet room with shower (See Important Note), handbasin and WC. The annexe is south-facing with delightful rural views, and there is an outside terrace with table and chairs. There is also secure cycle storage.
Stowford Hill is located in stunning Devon countryside, midway between Brentor (with its tiny historic church dating back to 1250) and Chillaton. Lydford Gorge (National Trust) is 4 miles, the ancient stannary town of Tavistock is 6 miles, and the North and South coasts are within 30 miles. The main A30 trunk road is six miles away at Lifton. Dartmoor is under two miles away; the location is ideal for enjoying the wealth of interesting and historic features which this part of the West Country has to offer- and cycling is an ideal way of enjoying it.
As we are on an independent water supply, please be aware that the water pressure can be variable- which means that the shower output can be equally variable! Therefore, if it is important to you to experience a high-pressure or "rain-forest" shower experience, you are likely to be disappointed. There are, however, compensations....like the deep tranquillity of the valley setting, the owls hooting at night, the "dawn chorus", the Roe deer grazing in the field outside your window, the brilliance of the night sky.....
