Beautiful timber cabin in the Scottish Highlands - great place for all forms of cycling @ start of Great Glen Way & on Route 78. 10 mins from Nevis Range, 30 mins from Glencoe Mountain Trails
Coorie Doon is a beautiful timber cabin in the Scottish Highlands with views onto Ben Nevis, Glencoe and the surrounding mountains. It is kitted out to make sure you can come "home" to comfort and warmth after a great day in the saddle; big fluffy soft towels, memory foam mattresses, generously sized showers, a well equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, iPod dock, Sat TV and views that will take your breath away.
It's practical too, with a super efficient drying room, bike bunker, bike racks and wash station as well as on site parking.
The two en-suite bedrooms can be hired separately and are each fitted with a triple bunk, with a double bed (lower) and a single bunk (upper). There is an open plan kitchen-lounge area, a balcony, drying room and a sauna* which is great to relax in after a long day on the saddle. The kitchen has everything needed to cook a nourishing meal, including a microwave, fridge, full sized oven, ceramic hob and dishwasher. The open plan lounge has a sofa, foldaway dining table and chairs, satellite TV / DVD player an iPod dock / CD player, as well as a selection of reference books and OS maps of the local area.
Coorie Doon has underfloor heating throughout and provides free Wi Fi access.
Outside there is parking, a lockable bike bunker, bike racks and a bike wash station. The decked balcony overlooks a pond and burn sympathetically planted with indigenous species to encourage wildlife (special care needed with small children).
All reasonable energy costs are included in the rate along with bedding, linen and towels.
The area is ideal for mountain biking, forest trails and long distance challenges. Coorie Doon is on the Great Glen Way, near to the West Highland Way and surrounded by forestry tracks. It is only 10 mins from Nevis Range - the current hosts of the World Cup Mountain Bike event in June each year - and sited at the start of the Great Glen Way - a canoe trail and long distance walking route as well as host to a collection of Great Glen Mountain Bike Trails. These are at a variety of Great Glen locations with opportunities for everyone - from beginners and families, to world class competition level.
