May Cottage offers a luxury self-contained holiday annexe for two people and in addition to the annexe we have two superb bed and breakfast en-suite double or twin rooms.
May Cottage was built in the late 18th century and was once owned by a wealthy family from London. The property was used for their annual holidays where the family were extremely well looked after by their accompanying servants.
The property has been extended over the years and is now a substantial quality home and business both owned and run by your hosts Carol and Jeff.
This lovely bright and welcoming home is close to the vibrant market towns of North Walsham and Stalham. We are ideally situated on the North Norfolk coast just a short stroll away from a stunning sandy beach. We are right on the main coastal road between Mundsley and Happisburgh which is a very popular route for cyclists.
We have a large garage where both cyclists and motor cyclists alike can safely store their bikes overnight. We have facilities for washing and drying of cyclewear if required.
For those who wish to experience the Norfolk Broads, it’s just 10 minutes away. There are a number of places nearby where you can hire a boat by the hour, half day or full day, e.g. Wroxham, Stalham, Potter Heigham and Horning.
Evening meals can be arranged with 24 hours’ notice. However, there are numerous quality pubs and restaurants only a short distance away. We highly recommend guests walk along the beach to the ‘Poachers Pocket’ which offers both pub food and à la carte menu.
Please note: May Cottage is a non- smoking establishment and is not suitable for young children, due to a large unguarded pond – Sorry no pets permitted – All Payments by cash or cheque only, we have no card facilities!
