The South Downs Way was the first bridleway in the UK. It has been guiding cyclists and walkers through some of the finest countryside between Winchester, the first capital of England, and the white chalk cliffs at Eastbourne for many years.

If you're looking for attractive wildlife, visible prehistory, fine pubs and pretty villages, or if you just fancy a challenge, the South Downs Way is a great choice. Mountain bikes necessary.
